My New Blog Is Ready!

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to update you on all of the changes and improvements I have been working on over the past months! First of all my new blog is FINALLY launched!!! Please go check it out!

I am starting things up where I left off with my QUICKGRIDS page layout templates. They are available as a download on my new blog. No more waiting for CD’s to arrive in the mail and no more shipping charges! You may download the templates right now!

My new blog has undergone numerous revisions since last July when I first promised it to all of you. Many things have changed over the last year. One thing that remains the same is that I truly believe in digital scrapbooking and I want to continue to help you save your precious memories. I hope you follow me on the next path of my journey. I truly value your business and your friendships!!

I have added a new software program to my business called Panstoria Artisan. I LOVE it! I was fortunate enough to be on the beta testing team for this new software. If you are interested in trying it, there is a link on my new blog to a free 30 day trial download. I will continue to support Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 and Memory Manager. My new blog has Training Options, Freebies and free QUICKLFILL templates for both StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 and Artisan!

Many of you are Creative Memories Consultants and customers. Please know that I have given this new opportunity a lot of thought before deciding to add this software to my business. I have been digital scrapbooking for over 7 years, long before StoryBook was ever developed. I have used eight different software programs for digital scrapbooking. There are new options in this market all the time. Artisan has really captured my attention and I enjoy using it. Please know that I have no intention of trying to take any business away from Creative Memories consultants. Most of my best friends are consultants. I was a consultant myself from 2000 – 2004. I am still here to support you!

My Final Click & Fill Page Layout Templates

Hi Everyone!

This is my latest and final release of Click & Fill Page Layout Templates I designed for Creative Memories. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of my page designs come alive through all of you!!! I have made the decision to go back to designing for my own Visual Vocabulary company. These will be the last Click & Fill pages I design for Creative Memories.

My new blog will be up and running by next week. I have so many fun things to offer you! There will be freebies, free page layout templates and training options. I will be selling the QUICKGRIDS templates as a downloadable purchase!

Many of you are probably curious about why I made this difficult business decision. I have always been, and will continue to be, supportive of Creative Memories customers, consultants and their businesses. I was a consultant myself for four years from 2000 - 2004, so I have walked in your shoes! Last January 2010, I presented my line of page layout template CD's to Creative Memories. They asked me to join their Digital Design Team and StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 beta testing team. In April of 2010, I was asked by Creative Memories to stop selling my CD's. I focused my efforts on helping Creative Memories develop the line of what is now the Click & Fill templates. They purchased all of my designs from my CD's and have incorporated them in their product line. In November of 2010, a new Creative Memories Digital Design Team was selected, and sadly, I was not chosen to remain on the team. This decision opened up the opportunity for me to go back to designing for my own company Visual Vocabulary. I am also adding additional training and designs for other software to expand my business. I thank you so much for all of your support over the last couple of years! I hope you all understand the difficult decisions I have made. IMPORTANT NEWS - PLEASE READ

Hello Everyone,

I am writing to all of you with a very heavy heart. I have been informed by Creative Memories that I am no longer able to market and sell my own page layout template CD’s using StoryBook Creator Plus software. The company is in the process of purchasing Volume’s #1- #5 designs from me. Hopefully, you will see them being used in their product line in the months to come. The new QUICKGRIDS™ CD will be reviewed by the company to see what their interest may be in obtaining it as well.

I am remaining on the Digital Design Team as a designer and I will be working on collaborative new projects with Creative Memories. It is my hope that in the long run, I will be able to reach even more of you. When one door closes another one always opens. I am a firm believer that I have a mission to design and teach digital scrapbooking.

I will be revising my Blog and my Facebook group. I plan to continue to conduct my Laptop Crops and offer instruction to groups and individuals. I find such a feeling of accomplishment and personal joy being able to provide you with tools and training to make your digital scrapbooking faster and easier. I want to thank each and every one of you for the stories and the scrapbook pages you have shared. The last two years of my business have been so rewarding. It is very difficult to make this change.

As you know Laurie Callison is a talented designer whose skills Creative Memories has utilized many times in support of our digital business. In fact, the “Simple Start” templates are very popular largely due to her amazing design skills.

Laurie also sells templates she designs using Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus software directly to customers. Due to the limitations in the software license (Creative Memories does not own the software) and the need to protect our trade name and marks, we have regrettably requested Laurie to stop selling those templates directly to customers. This is not an easy decision because we know how much customers who buy directly from Laurie enjoy those products. However we do need to prevent the possibility of outside parties create products for sale using our intellectual properties and the software.

We are looking into ways to continue working with Laurie so her design could be made available not just directly to regional customers but a wider audience through the Creative Memories network. We appreciate Laurie’s passion for digital scrapbooking and has a great deal of respect for her design skills. We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.

I made this page with pics of our two sons, daughter, daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, and granddaughter-in-law for my husband who is recovering in a skilled nursing facility. There is a bulletin board directly across from his bed so I pinned it up there so he could see everyone and share his family with the staff. I started with a template from volume one and tweaked it a bit to accommodate the pics I wanted to use. He loved it!

Many of you may be wondering what all the buzz is about regarding the new Creative Memories Simple Start CD. It is a new digital content CD that includes 30 predesigned pages called "Simply Stylish", designed by my good buddies, Jenny Dammann and Macy Goode. It also includes 120 "Click & Fill" page layout templates designed by me!! The Click & Fill templates work exactly like my page layout templates except for the installation of the CD and adding pages to a project. I recorded a 14 minute video training lesson that walks you through:

What is included on the CD.
Installing the content.
Activating the content.
Begin a new StoryBook project using the Click & Fill page layout templates.
How to "Fill" a Click & Fill" page layout template.

Marcy Moreno “Beta Tested” my 4x6 page layout template CD #4. She created this entire project while she was on vacation in Hawaii. She used the Delight Surfer Girl Digital Power Palette Additions and the Delight Digital Power Palette in StoryBook Creator Plus. She sent the 4x6’s to be printed while she was still in Hawaii and picked them up when she returned. Then, she just slipped the photos into the slots in the Creative Memories PicFolio Milestones album. This album has 160 photo openings. She included 355 photos and all of her journaling into those 160 photo openings. The total cost to complete this album was about $70.00. I hope it gives you some good ideas of how to use the templates. It is so beautiful…enjoy! Thank you Marcy!

Modifing My Templates

This is an example of how to modify my templates. I started with this Page Layout Template from CD Volume #5.

To create the page below I used the newly released digital kit from Creative Memories called "Natural Beauty". It is a limited edition kit only available through Dec 31, 2009.

First, I deleted the photo frame openings, text boxes and other elements. I filled the black scalloped edge element with paper number 14 and applied the filter "3D Edge". I made paper #2 the background. Then I added a photo of my son and used the "Touch Up - Erase" feature to soften the edges of the photo. Then I applied various elements and text sayings from the same kit. SUPER EASY!! It only took about 5 minutes to complete. Remember all of my Page Layout Templates are totally editable so have fun making them your own!

Digital Flower Cards - Designed By Diana Fisher

Diana Fisher made these beautiful Digital Flower Cards using the Black & White Digital Power Palette. She used an example created by Luralee Campbell in a traditional version using the same palette. She was able to change the color highlights at the drop of a hat to suit her theme. Isn't it great to see how you can convert virtually anything from traditional to digital! Diana also created half completed digital cards and used the physical silk flowers and/or ribbon from the traditional kit to make a hybrid card. Thanks for sharing Diana!

I would like to introduce my special guest designer Kim Mannino! Kim is a Creative Memories Consultant and a member of the Creative Memories Digital Design Team. She is one of the most talented designers I have ever met! She is the creator of many of the digital freebies on the Creative Memories Digital Project Center. Her unique style is very recognizable and full of imagination. You will see her work everywhere in Creative Memories from the Digital Project Center to the catalog, Photo Center page layout templates, calendar template layouts, you name it and Kim can do it!

I had the pleasure of meeting Kim in person at Showcase. She is the sweetest and most humble person! She was so embarrassed when I asked her to autograph my Fall/Winter 2009 Catalog on the pages she designed. (Page 18 for those of you who are curious!)

Kim and I have a joke between us. I call her the "Queen" of page layout templates, and I am only the "Princess"! LOL

Kim created these beautiful pages using my Page Layout Template CD Volume #5. I am so thrilled. Thank you Kim! Enjoy everyone!

Janet is one of my good friends and a fellow designer on the Creative Memories Digital Design Team. Many of the pages you see on Creative Memories website and in their catalogs are designed by Janet. She also creates many of the “Freebies” available on the Creative Memories Project Center. Hi everyone. I want to thank my sweet and dear friend Laurie for having me as a guest on her blog!! I absolutely adore everything Laurie creates and am so excited to share a few pages that I did using her fabulous templates from her Volume #5 DVD.

Just to tell you a little about myself, I am a SAHM to one teenage boy, have been happily married for 20+ years, have a 200lb. dog and live in Cypress, Texas. My son is in his first year of high school, he has joined marching band and it is currently running our lives. I started traditional scrapping in 1999 and joined the digital scrapping world in April 2008. I absolutely love digital and am totally addicted. I am currently on three creative teams: Creative Memories, Bella Designs and Leslie Grainger Designs. I feel so very blessed to be a part of three fabulous teams!! The most important things in my life are my family, friends and my faith. I love taking photos of anything and everything and scrapping those little moments in life that mean so much!!

I am so excited to share with you the new 12x18 Calendar option available as part of the latest "update" to StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0. This is a really fun new feature that was added to the program just in time to create calendar pages for 2010! I am thrilled to announce that one of my designs was chosen to be included in the predesigned pages option. I designed the "July" page. Enjoy!

I love all of the new tools in StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0!

One of my favorites is the Filter - 3D Edge. I used it on this page to make some of the elements appear to pop off the page.

I also used the Straight Cutting Tool to Rip the ends of the journaling strips.

Very Fun - Give it a try!

I am back to Blogging! I just finished Volume #5 of my Page Layout Template CD Collection. It is designed in the upgraded StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0

I have also "Digitally Re-Mastered" all of my first four volumes of my Page Layout Templates that were originally created in StoryBook Creator Plus 2.0. I remade them in StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0.

If you have purchased my Page Layout Templates in the past be sure to load them to your hard drive before you upgrade to StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0.

I would love to post pages you have designed using my Page Layout Templates! Please forward them to me as a JPG. I will post them here.
